Product Design Ideation & Refinement

Product design ideation is the creative process of generating, developing, and refining ideas for new products.

Color, Materials, Finish (CMF)

How a product looks and feels influences its function and perceived value. In product development those characteristics are collectively known as Color, Material, Finish, (CMF).  CMF influences whether a product feels cheap or luxurious; durable or fragile. Beyond look and feel, finish and materials are critical for optimizing functional aspects of a product like ergonomics or ease of cleaning.  CMF requirements must be communicated clearly to the manufacturer to preserve original design intent and brand consistency in the final product.

Product design refinement is a crucial phase in the product development process where initial concepts and prototypes are iteratively improved and optimized to meet the desired specifications, user needs, manufacturing requirements, and market expectations. This phase ensures the final product is functional, reliable, aesthetically pleasing, and cost-effective.
